Inspection Request

Issuance of building permits is regulated by the Georgia Contractors Law, Title 43. Building permits are required for all work with the exception of:

  • Trim
  • Cabinetry
  • Painting
  • Carpeting

All other work requires permitting, unless otherwise notified.


  • 1. Using a browser, go to:
  • 2. Register a new user account (if needed) and sign in using your email address and password.
  • 3. After signing in, select “Building and Non-Trade Permits” (which includes the land disturbance and storage building) or “Trade Permits” in the Building section of the page.
  • 4. Answer the prerequisite checklist questions and click “Next.”
  • 5. On the location tab, enter the address and click “Search.” Once the address pops up, click “Confirm.”
  • 6. Provide the appropriate information on the application form tab and click "Next".
  • 7. You must upload all required documents before you are allowed to submit the application.
  • 8. Keep an eye on the email address that you provided or the SagesGov Portal as it will provide the most accurate real-time information.

To schedule an inspection please log into and sign into your account. Locate the project that is needing an inspection and choose the type of inspection that is needed. Please include your name and a good contact number in the inspection request. All requests received prior to 4:00 p.m. will have inspections performed the next business day excluding holidays and inclement weather.
